When you live with chronic pain or illness, it can often feel confusing, isolating or hopeless. You’ve probably spent a lot of time trying to figure it out, trying many different treatments, or wondering: If I feel so awful, why can’t they figure out what’s “wrong” with me, why do doctors keep saying my tests are normal, and why don’t I have a clear path forward?
As someone who spent over a decade living with chronic and unexplained symptoms, I get it! The process of learning more about the neuroscience of how chronic pain and symptoms manifest in the body and are maintained through learning, emotion and toxic stress changed my own life and recovery, and inspired me to support others in this area.
Whether you have received a diagnosis, are lost in a world of confusion, or perhaps already understand your symptoms as neuroplastic, it can be helpful to have more support in your healing journey.
As a Registered Provisional Psychologist, I offer personalized, individual support. In our work together, we spend time understanding your symptoms and goals to create a treatment plan that is tailored to what you need. Sessions may include pain psychoeducation, exploring the role of stress, trauma and emotion, somatic tracking, self-compassion, introducing safety back into your body and exploring the other barriers and influences on recovery, such as trauma, stress and anxiety. I strive to bring a warm, collaborative, respectful and down to earth approach to each individual I work with.
Your pain is real AND there is hope for something different. I’m here to listen and support you to build more trust, safety and belonging in your body again.
