A Welcoming Place Counseling · Winston-Salem
The French philosopher and activist Simone Weil once wrote:
“Pain and suffering are a kind of currency passed from hand to hand until they reach someone who receives them but does not pass them on.”
These are the people who tend to seek out my services.
Psychotherapy is a second career for me, but I come to it with years of experience supporting individuals in chronic pain support groups, hospice, and foster care, residential, and occupational therapy settings. A former chronic pain sufferer myself, I previously served on ATNS’ board.
Though I support adults experiencing a wide range of issues, I work most frequently with chronic pain and illness, dissociation, grief and loss, complex trauma, and family-of-origin concerns. I believe the potential for deep healing, connection, and revitalization exists within this work.
Symptoms I commonly help with:
- Migraines and headaches
- Fatigue
- Digestive issues
- Back pain
- Dizziness
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Pelvic pain
