You may understand why you feel the way you do and still find that your body, emotions, or nervous system haven’t gotten the message.
Maybe you’re living with chronic pain or persistent physical symptoms. Maybe you find yourself anxious, hypervigilant, overwhelmed, shut down, or caught in patterns you know aren’t serving you but can’t seem to change. You may have spent years trying to think your way through it, manage your symptoms, or push yourself to function, only to find that understanding something intellectually doesn’t always change what your brain and body have learned to expect.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 30 years of experience, and my work has increasingly focused on the intersection of psychotherapy, nervous system regulation, predictive processing, trauma, emotional expression, and mind-body healing.
I’m especially interested in the patterns our brains and nervous systems develop to protect us. Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with me?” we become curious about what your brain and body may have learned, what they are predicting, and how those predictions may be influencing your emotions, behaviors, relationships, pain, and other physical symptoms.
Our work isn’t about convincing you that symptoms are “all in your head” or forcing yourself to think positively. Your experience is real. Together, we work to understand the protective patterns that may be keeping your system stuck and create new experiences of safety, flexibility, emotional expression, and possibility.
My approach integrates Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), Brainspotting, nervous system regulation, predictive processing, mindfulness, emotional awareness and expression, and other evidence-informed mind-body approaches. I tailor the work to the individual rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model.
Ultimately, my goal is to help you develop a different relationship with your thoughts, emotions, body, and symptoms, one rooted in curiosity rather than fear and greater trust in your capacity for change.
