Licensed Practitioner

Hannah Halbreich, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in working with individuals experiencing chronic pain, mind-body symptoms, anxiety, depression, and OCD. My approach integrates Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients better understand the relationship between the brain, nervous system, emotions, and physical symptoms.

In working with mind-body symptoms, I help clients develop a greater sense of safety in their bodies, reduce fear and hypervigilance around symptoms, and understand the science behind persistent pain and symptom patterns. I also incorporate ACT to help clients develop more flexible ways of responding to difficult thoughts, emotions, and symptoms while reconnecting with the people, activities, and values that matter most to them.

My own experience with chronic pain led me to mind-body approaches and has deeply shaped the way I practice. I appreciate the frustration of navigating countless appointments, conflicting answers, and the limitations that chronic symptoms can place on daily life. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where I help clients develop a deeper understanding of their symptoms, learn practical tools for responding to them, and build confidence in their bodies and in movement.

I’m based in West Hartford, CT, and offer in-person and walk-and-talk sessions locally, as well as telehealth to clients throughout Connecticut and Washington, D.C.

Symptoms I commonly help with:

  • Pelvic pain
  • IBS/digestive issues
  • Insomnia
  • Back pain
  • Depression
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Anxiety
  • OCD
  • Migraines and headaches
