About Christina
Suite 14 Psychotherapy · Brooklyn
Christina Sarno Horner LMHC is the owner and clinical director of Suite 14 Psychotherapy, a small group practice in Brooklyn NY. Her late father, Dr. John Sarno, identified chronic pain as a neurogenic mind-body disorder (TMS) and pioneered a model of treatment that Christina has successfully applied across her own clinical practice. Exposure to his work throughout her life profoundly influenced her decision to become a psychotherapist. She remains fascinated by the fundamental power of uncovering, acknowledging, and accepting the expansive array of emotions beyond our conscious control.
Beyond clinical work, Christina’s commitment to professional development led to the growth of a supervisory and training program for post-graduate clinicians within her practice. She supports the growth of new and established clinicians in addressing a range of client concerns, particularly mind- body conditions (TMS), depression, and complex anxiety disorders. Christina is the co-founder and creator of the Sarno X Sachs Solution a practitioner training program she developed with Nicole Sachs LMSW and Lisa Eisnepresser. This comprehensive training in supporting clients with chronic Mindbody conditions grew out of her father’s model and the combined practical knowledge of Christina and Nicole in their two decades of helping sufferers find relief.
Alongside her counseling and supervisory work, Christina’s professional experience includes graduate-level teaching at Brooklyn College, New York University, and Teachers College, as well as organizational consulting in the non-profit sector. She has two decades of in-depth experience in the analysis and diagnosis of group, organizational, and leadership dynamics, which inform innovative approaches to inspiring and managing change. Christina holds a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness from New York University.
We offer a sliding scale for TMS clients in order to accommodate as many as we can.
