Christina P. Kantzavelos, MSW, LCSW, MLIS, is a licensed clinical social worker and mind-body practitioner specializing in chronic illness, neuroplastic symptoms, trauma, and the complex relationship between the brain, nervous system, and body. With a background in clinical social work, case management, and healthcare insurance, Christina brings a unique understanding of both the clinical and systemic challenges faced by people living with complex and persistent symptoms. Drawing from her clinical training and personal experience with chronic health challenges, she takes a compassionate, somatic, trauma-informed, and nervous system-informed approach to helping people understand and change persistent symptoms.

Her work integrates evidence-informed approaches, including neuroplasticity-based interventions, EMDR, IFS, EFT, somatic and mind-body approaches, and nervous system regulation. She works collaboratively with clients to identify patterns that may be contributing to persistent symptoms while developing greater safety, flexibility, and confidence in the body’s capacity for change.

Christina is particularly passionate about supporting people who have lived with complex or persistent symptoms and may have felt dismissed, misunderstood, or limited by conventional approaches alone. Her experience in case management and insurance has also given her firsthand insight into the barriers, fragmentation, and challenges people often encounter while navigating healthcare. Her approach recognizes that symptoms are real while also honoring the brain’s remarkable capacity to adapt and change.

She is the founder of Begin Within Today, the Begin Within Journals, and Chronic Illness Alchemy, and has worked extensively with individuals navigating chronic and complex health conditions. She offers clinical services and coaching internationally.
