About Alison

Dr. Alison Ramsden is a Doctor of Chiropractic with advanced training in neuromusculoskeletal care, pain science, and functional medicine. She holds a
Bachelor and Master of Chiropractic from Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia) and a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the
University of Western States.
Her work is grounded in a biopsychosocial model of care, integrating evidence- informed physical treatment, movement-based rehabilitation, and mind–body approaches. She has pursued extensive continuing education in contemporary pain science and the neuroplastic mechanisms underlying persistent symptoms.
Dr. Ramsden incorporates evidence-based approaches aligned with the treatment of neuroplastic pain. These include education around pain and the
fear-avoidance cycle, Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), and graded exposure to movement to help restore functional confidence. She also utilizes body-based somatic practices—such as breathwork, orienting, and slow rhythmic movement—to support safety and downregulation of the autonomic nervous system. Her work emphasizes reducing perceived threat, addressing fear and avoidance, and supporting emotional and nervous system regulation as key components to recovery.
Her goal is to create a therapeutic environment where patients feel safe, understood, and empowered to move out of persistent pain cycles—bridging the gap between physical care and mind–body medicine in a way that is both evidence-informed and deeply patient-centered.
